Te Ara Whiriwhiri aims to fulfill the Kaupapa and Mission statement above, by achieving the following primary goals:
- To strengthen Māori Mental Health & Addiction planning and policy leadership within Counties Manukau.
- To strengthen and develop Counties Manukau’s Māori Mental Health & Addiction providers to be leaders within the sector.
- To develop a coordinated approach, among Māori and mainstream providers, to address the Mental Health and Addiction needs of Māori within Counties Manukau to promote quality and equitable access.
- To increase the effective communication and collaboration among Māori Mental Health and Addiction providers and other key stakeholder groups within Counties Manukau.
- To develop and maintain a strong Tangata Whaiora and Whanau focus within Te Ara Whiriwhiri and its work.
- To provide sound advice, guidance and direction to CHAMP to assist in providing a cohesive continuum of care for whānau
