Primary Goals

Te Ara Whiriwhiri aims to fulfill the Kaupapa and Mission statement above, by achieving the following primary goals:

  1. To strengthen Māori Mental Health & Addiction planning and policy leadership within Counties Manukau.
  2. To strengthen and develop Counties Manukau’s Māori Mental Health & Addiction providers to be leaders within the sector.
  3. To develop a coordinated approach, among Māori and mainstream providers, to address the Mental Health and Addiction needs of Māori within Counties Manukau to promote quality and equitable access.
  4. To increase the effective communication and collaboration among Māori Mental Health and Addiction providers and other key stakeholder groups within Counties Manukau.
  5. To develop and maintain a strong Tangata Whaiora and Whanau focus within Te Ara Whiriwhiri and its work.
  6. To provide sound advice, guidance and direction to CHAMP to assist in providing a cohesive continuum of care for whānau
